Mount Chapel is a friendly church in Salford. On the corner of Langworthy Road and Eccles Old Road. This is what we’re about...
As a church we place a high value on Worship and on Bible teaching. “The Westminster Confession” asserts that:
“the chief end of man is to glorify God and to enjoy Him forever”
Therefore we do see the glorification of God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit as our main purpose and goal.
To this end we acknowledge the Bible as the inspired Word of God (2 Timothy 3:16) and as our final authority in matters of faith. We also believe that the adoration and the honouring of the Godhead is our first calling as Christians. The Lord Jesus said that the greatest commandment was to “love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment” Matthew 22:37-8.
Our vision statement comes from those verses in Matthew and it is
“that we would be voluntary, extravagant, wholehearted lovers of God”.
God is infinitely fascinating and glorious. Though He is holy and transcendent, He invites His people on a journey of pursuing Him in intimacy, contemplation and adoration which we have only begun to touch and is unending in its dimensions. The life of a Christian believer is the way we were meant to live as human beings. We would love our corporate life as church to reflect the truth that God is infinitely enjoyable.
