We are Mount Chapel,
a family-friendly church in Salford, Greater Manchester, Uk.
This is what we’re about...

Enjoying Jesus in Word, Spirit and Mission

We are a community of Christians representing many different nations, backgrounds, ages and cultures, learning to love God, love others and make disciples.

Our Purpose
We believe that God has given all His people in His church the same overall purpose in The Great Commandment and The Great Commission (Matt 22v37-40; Matt 28v19-20).
Therefore, we aim to love God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength, to love our neighbour as ourselves, and to go and make disciples.

We also believe God gives direction to each local church as to how they are going to work out His overall purpose practically and day by day.
Therefore we believe God is helping us by calling us to explore ‘Enjoying Jesus in Word, Spirit and Mission.’

Enjoying Jesus
Our Father God is glorified when we enjoy union with Him in Jesus Christ the living Word, by The Spirit.
We want to experience and grow in joyful union with Jesus when we gather and throughout the whole of life.
We would love our corporate life as a church family to reflect the truth that relationship in union with God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit is infinitely enjoyable and brings an incomparable hope and joy for this life and into eternity.

Word
We acknowledge the Bible as the inspired Word of God (2 Timothy 3:16) and as our final authority in matters of faith.
God speaks in a variety of ways yet primarily through His written Word with Jesus in the power of The Spirit.
We want to enjoy Jesus through His Word by hearing the Word preached as we gather together, studying the bible as a church and learning to be with Jesus through His written Word in the whole of our lives.

Spirit
Jesus said “God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”(John 4v24).
Worship is an integral part of our lives and we seek to be the kind of worshippers the Father seeks.
Worshipping in spirit and truth is about exploring the truth of God’s greatness and we look to respond to Him by pursuing the Holy Spirit and His gifts with our whole heart, mind, soul and strength

Mission
It is our mission to make disciples by joyfully building others up in the Life that The Father gives us as we live worshipful lives enjoying Jesus in Word and Spirit.
We look to build each other up in the whole of life, including our friendships, relationships, marriages, parenting, single lives, workplaces and supporting other ministries across the world.

Sundays
We recognise that we as people are the church - the Body of Christ - and following Jesus is more than a Sunday.
Yet we do see Sunday as a special day.
Sunday is our main gathering as a church and the best way to come and meet us. We would love to meet you.
Sunday is the day when we have our ‘Mountain Top’ experience with God as a whole church family.
We worship God together in praise and adoration, take communion, listen to a talk from the bible and we pray.
We have a parent led crèche space every week and currently have kids and youth groups every 2nd and 4th Sunday.
Everyone is welcome to stay in the service though.

We start at 10:45am and finish around 12:30pm when we usually spend time catching up with each other over tea, coffee and sometimes biscuits and cake!

Fountain Of Life - French Church
As part of our ministry here at Mount Chapel we run a French speaking church called ‘Fountain Of Life’.
We meet most Sundays at 2pm.

  • The one true God who lives eternally in three persons — the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
  • The love, grace and sovereignty of God in creating, sustaining, ruling, redeeming and judging the world.
  • The divine inspiration and supreme authority of the Old and New Testament Scriptures, which are the written Word of God—fully trustworthy for faith and conduct.
  • The dignity of all people, made male and female in God's image to love, be holy and care for creation, yet corrupted by sin, which incurs divine wrath and judgement.
  • The incarnation of God’s eternal Son, the Lord Jesus Christ — born of the virgin Mary; truly divine and truly human, yet without sin.
  • The atoning sacrifice of Christ on the cross: dying in our place, paying the price of sin and defeating evil, so reconciling us with God.
  • The bodily resurrection of Christ, the first fruits of our resurrection; his ascension to the Father, and his reign and mediation as the only Saviour of the world.
  • The justification of sinners solely by the grace of God through faith in Christ.
  • The ministry of God the Holy Spirit, who leads us to repentance, unites us with Christ through new birth, empowers our discipleship and enables our witness.
  • The Church, the body of Christ both local and universal, the priesthood of all believers — given life by the Spirit and endowed with the Spirit's gifts to worship God and proclaim the gospel, promoting justice and love.
  • The personal and visible return of Jesus Christ to fulfil the purposes of God, who will raise all people to judgement, bring eternal life to the redeemed and eternal condemnation to the lost, and establish a new heaven and new earth.
